I’ve worked with so many people who want to make money online, and I’ve watched the mistakes they make. The interesting thing is that they all make the same mistake.
When it comes to making money online many people dream about it, but all of them have some fear. They are either afraid of what others will think, where they would find the money, find the time, or find something to sell or do online.
The truth is that making money online doesn’t involve you being a genius or propeller head. You don’t need to know about all the technical little things. All you need to know is that you are gonna put a page on the Internet, and that people will go there and buy what you are selling (Ok, over simplified, but bare with me).
You see, all too often I see people get lost in a maze of big words and funky new technologies. Keeping is simple in the beginning is important.
You also don’t need someone to lend you millions to start online. You can get a blog for free, and earn your first dollar without spending a cent. That’s the reality. Yes, there are a lot of ‘Systems’ for sale but you don’t have to invest in them to make money online.
Money is by far one of the smallest factors when it comes to making money online. More important than the money you need to spend or you are gong to make is the matter of deciding what you are gonna do.
There are many many ways to earn money online. What you need to get clear right in the begining is what you want to do. I blog. That’s my baby. Everything I do online involves blogging of some sort. I know it well, and I know it works, and I have a profitable history blogging.
You need to decide what your thing is. But it’s not quite that easy. The people you hear about making money online are often the people who are copied by the masses. So just becasue something is a HOT topic online doesn’t mean you need to get into it.
Trying to enter a hot niche is a fatal mistake. Trust me, EVERYONE and his brother is trying to get into the same niche and in no time you’ll find yourself competing with the population of China.
Last week I made you make a list of all the things you have an interest in. You need to now take that list and work it a little. The two questions you need to ask yourself for each of those items on the list is this:
1. Can I add value in this niche?
2. Are there problems in this niche for which I can provide solutions?
So here is the olympic gold medal formula: Take something you love and are passionate about, then find the niche and identify the problems. Add value, and then solve those problems. It’s really that simple.
And it doesn’t matter how you do it. Via a forum, newsletter, blog, info product, prodcast, vodcast, etc etc etc. Find your medium, identify your niche, and add as much value as you possibly can.
PS. I just realised I made a comment about China and the Olympics and then realised the Olympics are in China. Heheheh.

To make money online is a large percentage of today’s population goal in the recession that is upon us. Small business owners and most major companies are looking to make money online too. With webhosting ranging from 6.95 to 20 dollars per month start up cost and monthly fees are far less than running a brick and mortar business.

[...] week I spoke about adding value to a niche market, and solving problems for a specific market. That’s all fine and well, but how do you go about finding the market you want to get involved [...]
