Fabebook Worth - lessness

So there seems to be quite a bit of controversy about the value of Facebook. Last year Micorsoft bought a 1.6% share in Facebook and they put the value at about $15 Billion. For a site that makes no money yet, but has half the worlds internet population that seems a bit steep.

Now there was this whole ConnectU case and settlement, and Facebook seem to think that their Value is only about $3.75 Billion. Either way thats a lot of money, and about twice what YouTube sold for.

But look at the convenience of the values. When Facebook is being given money they have a very very high value and cash in on that. But when they need to dish out some money and shares at their expense the value is less than a quarter of the previous value. So they don’t loose nearly as much money.

I’m not saying this was intentional, it’s merely an interesting observation.
